THE DRIVER’S NOTES
A little less grip.
A long way down.
Start with my latest project at the summit and drive down through the years. Each leg has its own bends, ledges and scenery. Use Projects or M to jump straight to any stop. Every coloured lookout saves a checkpoint. Stop there for a closer view, then press E to explore its story while the camera gently sways left and right. Cross the chequered line in the circle before Rowte to start the timer. Pass all nine checkpoints, then cross the finish arch after Highway for fireworks; splits compare against your previous completed descent. Reading pauses the clock. R returns to your checkpoint without resetting the time. New run returns to the start circle for a fresh attempt. Your field notes, checkpoint and last completed run are saved on this device. The mountain also hides a few small secrets away from the road: a light in the trees, smoke behind a ridge. Drive up and stop to take a look.

Left half of the screen
Two buttons: hold the left one to steer left, the right one to steer right.
Right half of the screen
Hold GAS to accelerate, BRAKE to slow down and reverse. The strip above them is the handbrake. Slide a thumb between zones without lifting.
Build some speed and turn in: the rear slides naturally. Tap the handbrake to help it break loose, then release it and use the throttle to carry the slide. Countersteer to catch it. Keep your speed over the yellow ramps to jump the stream. Landing in the water makes a splash, then returns you to the bank. Enable Sound for splash and explosion effects. A long fall off the mountain ends with a little boom and a return to your checkpoint; normal ramp jumps are safe. Numbered map markers jump straight to projects.
